The Journey of Dotju
Helping Entrepreneurs Find the Perfect Business Name
I often get asked by my friends in the hosting (cloud) industry why I started Dotju, given that there are already so many domain registrars out there. The issue isn't that people can't book or register a domain name, but rather that they have a hard time finding the perfect name for their business, and even if they do, it's often not available in the .com extension.
I know firsthand how challenging it can be to find the right name for a business. I've been in the business world for 12 years, starting when I was in college. In 2010, I founded a web hosting company and sold it in 2015. When I started my own agency business, webdew, I struggled to find a name that I liked and that was available. I ended up registering webdew.in, but as I expanded internationally, I realized I needed the .com version too. To my surprise, I ended up paying $7000 USD to secure the webdew.com domain.
While having a good name isn't everything, a catchy and memorable name can definitely help with marketing and promoting a business. That's why I decided to create Dotju - a shop for brandable domain names where you can browse through thousands of options, complete with pre-designed logos and branded assets to help launch your business website.
I'm proud of what I've created with Dotju and know that it's something that would have been incredibly helpful for me when I was starting my own business. Plus, all of the domain names listed on Dotju are owned by us, so it's not a marketplace where people can sell their own names for profit.
If you have any creative ideas, I'd love to hear them! Feel free to give Dotju a try and shoot me an email.
